Topsoil moisture supplies rated 9% very short, 25% short, 62% adequate, and 4% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 14% very short, 31% short, 52% adequate, and 3% surplus.
Field Crops Report: Corn condition rated 5% very poor, 12% poor, 34% fair, 40% good, and 9% excellent. Corn mature was 92%, ahead of 86% last year and 80% for the five-year average. Harvested was 26%, equal to last year, and ahead of 21% average.
Soybean condition rated 5% very poor, 13% poor, 37% fair, 38% good, and 7% excellent. Soybeans dropping leaves was 96%, equal to last year, and near 94% average. Harvested was 48%, near 52% last year and 44% average.
Winter wheat planted was 82%, near 78% last year and 80% average. Emerged was 44%, ahead of 36% last year, but near 45% average.
Sorghum condition rated 5% very poor, 9% poor, 31% fair, 47% good, and 8% excellent. Sorghum mature was 96%, ahead of 91% last year, and well ahead of 74% average. Harvested was 36%, near 37% last year and 32% average.
Sunflower condition rated 4% very poor, 5% poor, 42% fair, 46% good, and 3% excellent. Sunflowers bracts turned yellow was 97%. Bracts turned brown was 64%. Harvested was 3%, near 6% last year, and behind 9% average.
