Topsoil moisture supplies rated 7% very short, 30% short, 56% adequate, and 7% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 10% very short, 34% short, 53% adequate, and 3% surplus.
Field Crops Report: Corn condition rated 3% very poor, 10% poor, 31% fair, 44% good, and 12% excellent. Corn silking was 93%, ahead of 87% for both last year and the five-year average. Dough was 38%, ahead of 29% last year, and near 35% average. Dented was 3%, near 1% last year and 2% average.
Soybean condition rated 3% very poor, 9% poor, 33% fair, 45% good, and 10% excellent. Soybeans blooming was 90%, near 88% last year and 87% average. Setting pods was 57%, near 58% last year and 59% average.
Winter wheat harvested was 87%, near 90% last year and 84% average.
Spring wheat condition rated 12% very poor, 20% poor, 36% fair, 29% good, and 3% excellent. Spring wheat harvested was 38%, behind 50% last year and 46% average.
Oats harvested was 68%, near 64% last year, and ahead of 63% average.
Sorghum condition rated 4% very poor, 5% poor, 30% fair, 59% good, and 2% excellent. Sorghum headed was 83%, well ahead of 60% last year and 59% average. Coloring was 17%, ahead of 3% both last year and average.
Sunflower condition rated 3% very poor, 4% poor, 45% fair, 46% good, and 2% excellent. Sunflowers blooming was 39%.
