SALEM, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is requesting feedback about the new Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Grant Program.
The purpose of this survey is to receive feedback about the priorities for the new Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program Grant (RFSIP) that will be housed in the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA). The survey should take you about 15 minutes to complete.
The goals of the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) program are to build resilience in the middle of the food supply chain, to provide more and better markets to small farms and food businesses, to support the development of value-added products for consumers, fair prices, fair wages, and new and safe job opportunities. RFSI will serve as an important component of USDA’s framework to transform the food system to benefit consumers, producers, and rural communities by providing more options, increasing access, and creating new, more, and better markets for small and mid-size producers. Funds will support expanded capacity and infrastructure for the aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, and distribution of locally and regionally produced food products. Additionally, funding can be used to purchase equipment. For more information, please visit the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure website.
Crops that are eligible for this funding are specialty crops, dairy, grains for human consumption, aquaculture, and other food products, excluding meat, poultry and wild caught seafood.
Entities that are eligible are agricultural producers or processors, nonprofit organizations, local governments, tribal governments, and institutions. All applicant businesses and organizations must be domestically owned, and applicants’ facilities must be physically located in Oregon.
