FORT WORTH, Texas — The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame expands its program offerings with unique Cowgirl experiences to connect women and horses.
The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of fame in Fort Worth has long been a hallmark of Cowgirl tradition, honoring women who have embodied the Cowgirl spirit through courage, resilience, and independence. Now, the museum seeks to connect more women to its mission through one of the most recognizable partners of the Cowgirl – the horse.
“Nothing brings out the inner characteristics of the Cowgirl like a horse,” said Diana Vela, PhD, associate executive director for the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame. “Our new Cowgirl Experience Series will offer a variety of opportunities for women to discover or reconnect to their inner Cowgirl and create a lasting connection with our museum.”
The Cowgirl Experience Series will launch with Cowgirl LEAD, a two-and-a-half day program designed for current and aspiring women leaders. The first Cowgirl LEAD will focus on aspects of leadership, communication, and challenge solving. Clinicians and National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame Honorees Dr. Eleanor Green and RADM (ret.) Christina Alvarado Shanahan will bring their extensive leadership skills to the stable, using hands-on activities with the horse to model and practice effective communication and leadership principles.
“Cowgirl LEAD is a must for anyone who is interested in growing their leadership and communication skills in the most fun, high-impact setting possible,” said Anna Morrison, PhD, program developer for the Cowgirl Experience Series. “Dr. Green and RADM Shanahan are passionate about creating a quality experience that is memorable and valuable, and you won’t want to miss learning from these amazing women!”
Cowgirl LEAD will be hosted at Iron Horse Farms near Weatherford, TX, and will be limited to 10 participants. In addition to high-quality group learning, attendees will enjoy beautiful accommodations on the Weatherford town square, authentic chuck-wagon meals, hands-on learning with horses (no experience necessary), takeaway seminar materials, camaraderie and fun!
