INDIANAPOLIS — Inc. revealed Aug. 15 that Market Wagon is No. 680 on its annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing companies in America. Market Wagon (MarketWagon.com), which operates online farmers markets in the Midwest and Eastern U.S., is the 29th fastest-growing company in the food and beverage category in the nation. It is the second consecutive year Market Wagon has made the Inc. 5000 list.
“Market Wagon’s mission is to enable food producers to thrive in their local market,” said Dan Brunner, Market Wagon CEO and co-founder. “We exist to make it easier for farmers and food artisans to reach consumers and for consumers to be able to shop for locally-sourced food they can trust with the convenience of home delivery. We treat every producer and every consumer as our customer.”
Market Wagon operates online farmers markets in 24 cities, serving customers in 16 states with local, last-mile delivery, leading to revenue growth of 868% in a three-year time period.
“Market Wagon is honored to be part of the Inc. 5000 again,” Brunner said. “We have proven that producers and consumers both want to participate in the growing movement toward more transparency and sustainability in the food supply chain along with less food waste and fewer food miles. We look forward to continuing to grow this model.”
Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000. The top 500 companies are featured in the September issue of Inc. magazine, which will be available on Aug. 22.
“Running a business has only gotten harder since the end of the pandemic,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “To make the Inc. 5000—with the fast growth that requires—is truly an accomplishment. Inc. is thrilled to honor the companies that are building our future.”
Market Wagon believes by providing exceptional choice and service, people can know exactly where their food comes from — no shipping or post offices required! The online store contains everything you would expect to find at a physical farmers market: local farm-fresh eggs, dairy, meat, produce, baked goods, and more. Shopping requires no upfront fees or long-term subscriptions.
