ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Farmers Market will commemorate 50 continuous years of operation on Thursday, August 17th with a celebratory party and fundraiser at the market’s scenic Steamboat Landing location, 545 Third Street in Ithaca, NY. The community is invited to enjoy a fun evening on the waterfront, celebrating this important half-century milestone while your ticket proceeds support the future of the Ithaca Farmers Market.
The evening will open with a special VIP Happy Hour from 5:30-7:00pm. Guests will enjoy music by the Fly by Night String Band while sampling an authentic Farm-to-Table menu curated by Peggy Aker of Macro Mama to include a rich array of favorites by market vendors and chefs, and complementary craft beer, wine, cider and spirits [menu to be posted soon at https://ifmfriends.org/]. Guests may bid on Silent Auction items, and view photos from the market’s history in a special display created for this occasion.
From 7:00-10:00pm, a ‘Party on the Waterfront’ will light up the pavilion with music by 4 local bands (Cast Iron Cowboys, Drew Kiddoo & the Blackouts, The 86ers and DJ Dijon). Attendees can dance the night away (or practice for this fall’s Rutabaga Curl!) while enjoying finger foods and a complementary drink (cash bar available). Silent Auction bidding ends at 8:00pm.
Two ticket options are available: HAPPY HOUR + PARTY Ticket ($50/person) includes admission and benefits described above from 5:30-10:00pm; PARTY ONLY Ticket ($25/person or $40/2 people) includes admission from 7:00-10:00pm, music, finger foods and 1 complementary drink (cash bar available).
