CAMP HILL, Pa. — The Brake family farm hosted Franklin County Farm Bureau’s 33rd annual Fall Farm Funfest last week.
The event brought more than 2,000 Franklin County 4th grade students to the Brake’s dairy farm, where they got to interact with educational stations and observe a working robotic dairy up close. Students learned about milking cows, cow comfort, veterinary practices, nursing calves, goats and more.
The farm also hosted a legislative tour on Friday afternoon, where members of Franklin County Farm Bureau interacted with state legislators. Oakleigh Farm was open to the public on Saturday where visitors could come and observe a working farm and enjoy free milk and ice cream.
Fall Farm Funfest is a yearly project put on by Franklin County Farm Bureau, which seeks to educate elementary students and the local community about agriculture.
