DENVER, Colo. — CSU and CSU Spur are offering a series of four, hands-on lab sessions at CSU’s newest, state-of-the-art plant health and research laboratories in the Terra building, where participants will advance their ability to identify Colorado pests and diseases that affect crops and gardens statewide.
- Sessions will be taught in a laboratory setting, where we will study the symptoms and biology of plant problems essential to developing more advanced field diagnostic skills.
- Each session will introduce new, fresh plant samples received by the Plant Health Clinic from nurseries, farmers, landscapers, arborists, and gardeners from around Colorado for diagnosis.
- Each group will be capped at 20 people and both English and Spanish speaking participants will be accommodated.
- Sessions will be led by Dr. Ana Cristina Fulladolsa, Director of the CSU Plant Health Clinic and Plant Diagnostic Expert for the state of Colorado. Dr. Fulladolsa grew up in Guatemala and is a native Spanish-speaker. She earned a B.S. in Agronomic Engineering at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala in 2009 and her Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, 2015, during which she gained skills in diagnostics. In 2018, she began her leadership as Director of the Plant Health Clinic at Colorado State University.
