SALEM, Ore. — China continues to be the largest importer for US agricultural products. Last year Oregon exported approximately $340 million worth of agricultural and agricultural related products to China and Hong Kong, making them a crucial trading partner. Some of the largest Oregon exports include grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and fish but the product list is much more extensive. China has the World’s second largest GDP and a very large population that values Oregon products. The consumers in China are becoming more health conscious and recognize US and Oregon products as reliable and safe. This has created an exporting opportunity for Oregon producers/suppliers.
