AUSTIN — On Monday, Aug. 14, Beef Loving Texans, creator of the award-winning series , launched its first-ever 2023 Ultimate Beef Loving Texan Contest, a state-wide search to name the Ultimate Beef Loving Texan. The 10-day competition showcases a lineup of culinary rising stars including pit masters, chefs, foodies and home cooks who embody the true flavors of Texas by demonstrating recipes in one-minute videos featuring beef as the star ingredient from classic Texas favorites to innovative new twists.
Voting for the 2023 Ultimate Beef Loving Texan opened to the public on Monday, Aug. 14 and end Wednesday, Aug. 23 where fans can cast their vote for the following contestants on BeefLovingTexans.com:
- Danielle , Houston – Cajun Beef Gumbo
- Jade , Austin – Black Pepper Beef Stir Fry
- Jimmy , Austin – Smoked Beef Rib Vermicelli Bowl
- Johnny , San Antonio – BBQ Ranch Beef Tenderloin Poppers
- Maria Fernanda , El Paso – Carne Asada Guacamole Cheese Burrito
- Victoria , Houston – Brisket Bombs
“We’ve scoured the state to find rising culinary stars with a knack for showing off all of the delicious ways to cook with beef, embodying the true flavors of Texas,” said Rachel Chou, Beef Loving Texans’ Director of Consumer Marketing. “This elite group of food influencers is vying for your vote so that they can compete for the title of Ultimate Beef Loving Texan in our upcoming cook-off which is sure to be an epic display of talent.”
The two finalists, determined by public vote, will earn their spot in a final cook-off to debut on in September with more details to come. The final showdown will feature BBQuest cohosts Kelsey Pribilski and Jess Pryles along with Austin-based chef Miguel Vidal founder of Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ and Food Network host Ali Khan. During the cook-off, the two finalists will go head to head for the title and judges will select the champion. The crowned Ultimate Beef Loving Texan will hold the title for one year.
