OLYMPIA, Wash. — All wheat stored in all positions on June 1, 2023 totaled 22.9 million bushels in Idaho, up from 16.3 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 34 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 66 percent compared to the previous year. In Oregon, wheat stored in all positions totaled 11.8 million bushels, up from 7.48 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 49 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 158 percent compared to the previous year. In Washington, wheat stored in all positions totaled 45.3 million bushels, up from 33.3 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 25 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 833 percent compared to the previous year. Nationally, wheat stored in all positions totaled 580 million bushels, down from 698 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 25 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 34 percent compared to the previous year.
Barley stocks in all positions on June 1, 2023 totaled 15.1 million bushels in Idaho, up from 14.1 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were down 9 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 77 percent compared to the previous year. In Oregon, barley stored in all positions totaled 465,000 bushels, up from 329,000 bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were 385,000 bushels, up 49 percent from the previous year. On-farm stocks were 80,000 bushels, up 14 percent compared to the previous year. In Washington, barley stored in all positions totaled 1.47 million bushels, up from 1.25 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 46 percent, while on-farm stocks were down 73 percent compared to the previous year. Nationally, barley stored in all positions totaled 56.3 million bushels, up from 42.2 million bushels from a year ago. Off-farm stocks were up 20 percent, while on-farm stocks were up 78 percent compared to the previous year.
Oats stored in off-farm locations on June 1, 2023 totaled 27,000 bushels in Idaho, down from 39,000 bushels a year ago. Nationally, oats stored in all positions totaled 34.8 million bushels, up from 32.7 million bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were 21.0 million bushels, down 8 percent from the previous year, while on-farm stocks were 13.8 million bushels, up 40 percent compared to the previous year.
Corn stored in off-farm locations on June 1, 2023 totaled 2.65 million bushels in Idaho, down from 3.75 million bushels a year ago. In Washington, corn stored in off-farm locations totaled 7.83 million bushels, up 36 percent from a year ago. Nationally, corn stored in all positions totaled 4.11 billion bushels, down from 4.35 billion bushels a year ago. Off-farm stocks were 1.89 billion bushels, down 15 percent from the previous year, while on-farm stocks were 2.22 billion bushels, up 5 percent compared to the previous year.
