CARLISLE, Pa. — Join the Penn State Master Gardeners of Cumberland County for the 2023 Gardening with Nature program series of presentations on environmentally friendly gardening topics from March through September. The first program is “Bee Friendly, Plant This and Not That!” on Tuesday, March 21, 7:00-8:30pm. This in-person program will be held in the Community Room at the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library at 100 N. 19th Street in Camp Hill.
Recognizing the ecological and economic importance of supporting pollinators and their habitats, Camp Hill Borough is working towards becoming a Bee City USA affiliate. Join Penn State Master Gardener Lauren Taylor and the borough committee members to learn about the borough’s efforts and discover how you too can think globally and act locally to turn your garden into a pollinator-friendly zone.
The registration fee is $5.00. The registration deadline is Monday, March 20, 2023. Walk-ins will be accepted if space is available.
Future program topics include nocturnal pollinators, The Bower – a public native garden and sculpture park, pollinator-friendly gardens, tree selection and planting, pruning techniques, and winter seed sowing. Everyone interested in gardening and a healthy environment is welcome to attend these programs.
